Q1)Which fictional character’s name did you get completely wrong?

A1) Hermione. I learnt to pronounce it the same time Krum did.

Q2) Which character would you like to place in a fictional world from another book or series?

A2) I would love to swap detectives from an earlier era to someone from current one .. Like Poirot <-> Cormoran Strike maybe?

Q 3) Repetition. Repetition. Which book gave you dejavu of another book whilst reading it?

A3) I get that vibe from a lot of dystopian fiction – teenage girl unwillingly chosen and destined to lead some rebellion. And she usually has a childhood guy best friend who likes her but they will never get together. The main love interest ends up being another guy, their relationship goes from hate->love and the guy is usually “eligible” to be able to partner her on her new journey as the “chosen one”, unlike the childhood friend who is left behind..

Q4) Which book gave you the complete opposite of girl power feels?

A4) Gambit (The Prodigy Chronicles #1). by C.L. Denault. I loved the book till Willow decides that she is in love with the physically-aggressive-bordering-on-violent Reece.

Q5) Name a character you felt like you wanted to cheer on whilst reading.

A5) Kat from The Ugly Stepsister by Aya Ling.

Q6) How long do you typically spend at a book shop.

A6) Half an hour maybe.

Q7)Which character would have to get out a restraining order on you, if they were real.

A7) Hmm.. can’t think of anyone.

Q8) Which overhyped book were you cautious about reading?

A8) Passenger, by Alexandra Bracken, because of all the hype on twitter and elsewhere. I really liked the book, though. I think it is partly because I haven’t read much of time-travel fiction so everything felt new and fresh.

Q9) We all love Regina George. Name a villain you just love to hate.

A9) Oh, so many from HP. I think I loved to hate Umbridge and Bellatrix more after Imelda Staunton and Helena Bonham Carter’s amazing portrayals!

Q10) Your favorite fictional parent

A10) Apart from the Weasleys (<3) , Hans Hubermann from The Book Thief – By Markus Zusak and Angelica’s dad (Edgar) from In the Context of Love – By Linda K Sienkiewicz.

Q11) Which book or series would you love to catch on?

A11) The Orphan Queen and Mirror King duology , Lunar Chronicles.

Q12) Describe your ideal character to read about

A12) Flawed characters are fun to read. I think any character that is basically not the same by the time you reach the last page of a book – who has learnt from all the goof-ups ranging from selfish to self-destructive. A bit of dark or self-deprecating humor would be perfect!

Q13) What do you do when a book gives you a bad case of ‘the feels’?

A13) I just keep thinking about it over a cup of coffee.

Q14) Which characters one lines would you love to claim for your own?

A14) Nitwit!Blubber!Oddment!Tweak! Dumbly-dorr FTW! :p

Q15) Name a character’s decision that has made you roll your eyes

A15) This applies to so many characters – Making some noble self-sacrificing decision though it might not be entirely necessary. But sometimes, I forget about it by the end of the book if the emotional and dramatic payoff is satisfactory.
